Après la Première Guerre mondiale, Gaston Guillet a été photographe à La Roche-sur-Yon ( Vendée) sa ville natale. Il a d’abord opéré rue du Séminaire à l’enseigne "Photographie du Séminaire". En mai 1922, il transfère son atelier 14, rue Paul-Baudry où il succède à Gaston Fillodeau. Un temps, il conserve l’enseigne "Photographie du Séminaire" (voir carte photo ci-dessous) puis il y renonce et signe ses portraits G. Guillet.
